Sunrise, sunset, and nighttime are especially beautiful times to experience this outdoor space. While the balcony is a standout feature of the apartment, it does have some limitations. It comfortably accommodates 2-4 people standing and includes a small table with two outdoor chairs. However, please note the chairs are not particularly comfortable for extended sitting. Additionally, the balcony faces a busy street, and there is ongoing construction nearby, meaning some daytime noise may be noticeable when you are outside. It's worth noting that our balcony is unique within the AKA Brickell Hotel building. Many other balconies in the building are indoor spaces overlooking an atrium. You might consider bringing your own “beach” towels. ____________ Sofa-Bed is Not Comfortable for Adults — If you plan to use the sofa bed and like to sleep under a heavy blanket, please bring one of your favorites. A heavy blanket for the sofa bed is not included. — Our maximum capacity is 5 persons, but sleeping arrangements for 5 adults can be a little tight. The pull-out sofa bed is NOT comfortable for adults. — The mattress on the sofa-bed is soft and squishy. *All sofa-bed mattresses are this way. — Most guests use the pull-out sofa for children who don't weigh enough to feel the bed frame under the mattress while sleeping. _________________ Hotel Swimming Pool -- Our guests have access to the hotel swimming pool and exercise room, no extra charge. -- The hotel “rooftop” swimming pool is located on the top floor of the adjacent parking garage. -- The open hours are generally from 7am-7pm. Swimming pool hours are subject to change and the swimming pool may be closed from time-to-time for special events or maintenance. Just off of the Rickenbacker Causeway, en route to the serene natural paradise of Key Biscayne, is the preeminent place for windsurfing in Miami. Hobie Beach (also called Windsurfer Beach) has earned its nickname by playing host to a locally run windsurfing rental concession for more than twenty years. Experienced vets and adventurous vacationers alike can spend the day experiencing this exhilarating activity. Sign up for a two-hour lesson, or an all-day group lesson and become a pro in no time. Virginia Key. Historic Virginia Key Beach is a small stretch of beach just off the Rickenbacker Causeway, the connector from Miami’s mainland to Key Biscayne. There are shaded pavilions for picnics, a boardwalk, and coastal hammock trails. There’s also a concession stand and nice green spaces that are usually very quiet and rich in the local ecology. Key Biscayne. Crandon Park, a beach, tennis center, golf course, and nature center all-in-one, is a local favorite for residents of Miami-Dade County. Located on the northern part of Key Biscayne, the public park occupies over 800 acres of the island. Getting to Crandon Park is easy: Cross the Rickenbacker Causeway from the mainland, drive through Virginia Key and pass the famous Miami Seaquarium. Get there early, there is plenty to do. Plan on spending a long day enjoying the many amenities in the sun at Crandon Park. The 13,800-seat Stadium Court is the centerpiece of the Tennis Center at Crandon Park facility, home of Miami Open Tennis. Miami Open Tennis uses 10 courts in competition courts, plus eight practice courts. The facility is also home to four European red clay and four American green clay courts. Crandon's beach also offers equipment rentals such as chairs and umbrellas, but that's not all there is to do at this active but peaceful beach. For fun on the water rent some kayaks or stand-up paddleboards, or rent a single or quad bike to explore the park. Sometimes you don't want to stay in the sun all day, and that's all right, because Crandon Park also has beach cabanas available to rent daily from 8 a.m. to sunset, on a first come first serve basis. The private cabanas provide a 10' x 10' space, a private shower and an assigned parking space. Miami Beach. A short cab ride or Uber. Cosmopolitan and Tropical, Miami Beach/South Beach Defines Cool. Car parking in Brickell Miami and Miami Beach is limited and very expensive! Many of our guests prefer ride share, the free downtown metromover, the free Miami and Miami Beach Trolley, bike sharing, and motorized scooters. We're across the street from the metro mover (free rail transportation) which takes you all around the Brickell and Downtown area. Metro mover connects to metro rail witch is Miami's "above ground subway." Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Everybody rides free on Metromover. The electrically-powered, fully automated people mover system connects with Metrorail at Government Center and Brickell stations and with Metrobus at various locations throughout downtown. Major destinations of the Metromover system include the American Airlines Arena and Bayside Market Place. Bike Sharing with Citi Bike Miami. The Citi Bike program is Miami's bike sharing and rental system. The Citi Bike Miami is intended to provide locals and visitors with an additional transportation option for getting around the city. Bike sharing is fun, efficient and convenient. The solar-powered bike sharing system consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy, very durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations sited at regular intervals around a city. With a thousand bikes at a hundred stations and more on the way downtown, bikes are available to use 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Bike Sharing is a concept that has been used very successfully in a variety of European cities, such as Paris and Barcelona.
