A charming, unique window into a Miami of yore, steps from the South Florida of the future. The home is within walking distance of Downtown Coconut Grove and the water’s edge of Biscayne Bay. A gated, secure parking lot makes it even more of a rarity. You’ll love the place because of the lush, tropical landscape (a restored, native, tropical hardwood hammock), the neighborhood, the history, the seclusion, and last but not least, the water. The cottage is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Nestled among the tropical canopy of Coconut Grove, this 100+ year-old cottage with guest apartment (where you’ll be staying) is the perfect retreat for the discerning traveler, minutes from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Coconut Grove, the water, close to the Brickell and Downtown communities, and a short drive to Miami Beach. The property is a restored, fully-native tropical hardwood hammock, questions about which the host is happy to answer.
You enter the home in a large living area replete with lounge space and seating. The kitchen is to the left, and a seating/work area is on the island in the center. The sleeping area is to the back, and beyond that is the living area with Roku TV and even a Bluetooth speaker that doubles as a turntable! The bathroom is back around toward the entrance, with the guest closet just to its left. In the island cabinets facing the kitchen are ample linens.
Guests enjoy a large parking area and can enjoy the pathways on either side of the main house through the native, tropical hardwood hammock. The social area toward the front of the main house and the parking area just behind are unfortunately unavailable to guests.
We are here to help in any way we can!
Coconut Grove was founded before the City of Miami itself, and has an eclectic, artsy, and diverse history. Some of the most significant architecture, historic properties, but also bohemian Miamians can be found in "the Grove."
From the "Perfect Day in Coconut Grove" blog post in TimeOut:
8AM: Start the day with an outdoor yoga class on the rooftop of the Mayfair Hotel and Spa. Feel the light beaming down on you as you flow through a sequence of sun salutations.
9AM: Here on a Saturday? Stock up on produce at the Coconut Grove Farmers' Market, put on by Glaser Organic Farms. Grab a coconut water to go.
10AM: Make your way to Green Street Cafe for an epic brunch. Long waits are to be expected, but there is plenty of bar seating and an assortment of Bloody Marys to help pass the time. The Bloody Maria is deliciosa!
One right turn from the airport, and we're a straight shot away. There is parking on site, two bikes with locks and helmets are provided (with waiver), and there is a bus stop within walking distance as well. Of course, Uber and Lyft also operate very well in Miami, providing another mode of transportation in Coconut Grove and beyond.
