Private & quiet Studio Apartment located in back of our 1926 home. Comfortably fits 1-2 people. Central and ideal location 5 min from I95; 15 min Miami Beach, Downtown & Brickell. Lovely residential neighborhood designated Tree City USA and a bird sanctuary. Full kitchen, AC, WIFI, Cable & Free parking for one vehicle. Our 12 year old Chocolate Lab lives in the main house but do not go in property listed. Studio is set up perfectly for a long holiday, a student or someone traveling for work.
Cottage Studio is located in the quaint Village of El Portal and in the lush backyard of our 1926 home. You will enjoy living amognst all the greenery and the sound of our pond. Many people compliment the beautiful backyard and the peacefulness felt on the property. You have a private entrance and free parking for one car. The studio has AC, a full kitchen, private bath, Queen size bed, sitting area with TV, and complimentary WIFI. Perfect for one or two people. *Note that the apartment has an xFi Pod for the internet. There will be a $119 charge if the xFi Pod goes missing at check-out.

El Portal is a picturesque and historic village in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The village name is derived from the Spanish word for the wooden gate that once stood at the entrance to the village. El Portal, a primarily residential community of single-family cottages and bungalows, was founded in 1937 and to this day includes prime examples of 1930’s and 1940’s South Florida architecture.
The Village’s shaded streets and quiet traffic make the community a cool, green oasis, just minutes from downtown Miami. The sprawling live oaks, some more than 75 years old, provide a haven for our local wildlife. The village is barely a square mile and is bordered to the south by the Little River, where many of our wading birds find their sustenance. In addition to the native wildlife, several stunning exotic species call El Portal home, including proud wild peacocks and bright green iguanas.
El Portal also plays host to one of South Florida’s most unique historic sites, an Indian Mound that was the first archaeological site to receive historic designation in Miami-Dade County. One of the county’s oldest churches, the Radar Memorial United Methodist Church, which was formed in 1923, also boasted an El Portal address. While preserving its heritage, El Portal has continued to make history, becoming the first community in the country to elect a Haitian American to its council in the 1990’s. El Portal is designated a Tree City USA and a bird sanctuary.
Off-street parking available on the side of the house if you rent a car. If not, there is a bus stop at a 3 min walk on NE 2nd Ave. Uber is also very affordable in Miami and a great way to get around.

We have two lovely large dogs. A Chocolate Lab named Zeke and a bulldog mix named Moses. Both are friendly and have access to the backyard but not your apartment. You may hear them barking when you are walking through the path in and out during the first few days until they get used to your sounds. Guests must not be afraid of dogs in case you meet them in the backyard. :)
Cleaning & Inspection - Stays longer than one month:
For stays longer than one month, note that we will inspect the apartment once a month and you will be required to have the apartment professionally cleaned once a month. The fee for this will be $80 and the guest will be responsible for this fee. We will bill through Airbnb or you can choose to pay cash.
Cancellation policy
A deposit is part of the total rent payment and is non-refundable. In case of cancellation, the tenant will forfeit the deposit, and the remaining rent will not be charged.
