We're in the suburbs south of Miami: 23 miles from the airport, 20 miles to Miami Beach's Ocean Drive, and 138 miles to Key West. Close to Everglades National Park and the Upper Keys. You'll enjoy a large room and private bathroom in our home. Smart TV with Roku gives you access to 150+ cable channels and your own streaming accounts. Also, your own mini-fridge, microwave, & coffee maker. Ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Easy parking for 1 car. In addition to your spacious bedroom and your own petite bathroom with shower, you are invited to use the back yard and amazing swimming pool from 7 AM - 11 PM. The house is only open to registered guests (so, guests can’t invite guests into the home, not even just “stopping by”). No pets or service animals allowed due to host family allergies. Please be sure to read the "House Rules" before booking. Large bedroom and your own bathroom. Prepare your own meals: you have a new mini-fridge w/tiny freezer and small microwave oven at your disposal. Relax and watch cable TV or log onto your own streaming accounts. Or, surf the Internet with our high-speed Wi-Fi. Enjoy fresh coffee or tea with our Keurig coffee maker (I'll start you off with a starter pack of coffee, tea, and half-and half). You may especially enjoy coffee in the morning just before a quick swim. Relax on Adirondack chairs in our spacious back yard. You're free to share the living room and dining area with us, as well. Although currently, the living room is almost empty of furniture. Supply chain problems! Swimming pool available to the up-to-two adults on the original AirBnb reservation, after all adults have signed a statement assuming all risks involved. Children (who must be at least 13) are NOT permitted in the swimming pool at any time. All minors must be closely supervised at all times, and especially when they're in the back yard, where the pool is. Pool ranges from 3 to 8 feet in depth. No diving permitted and no running around the pool, for your safety. And please, no glass around the pool. Safety is our number one priority. Sorry, but nude sunbathing and "skinny-dipping" are not permitted. We are generally available to our guests during their stay, as they prefer. We may have security cameras (audio and video) outside the home that monitor the entry doors, and inside the home we have them for our own security only in the owners' personal bedrooms, which are off-limits to guests. We do not have any cameras or any sort of monitoring equipment in the guest bedrooms/bathroom or in any indoor shared space. Homeowner's private bedrooms and bathroom are off-limits to guests. I will usually meet guests on arrival. I'm generally at home in the mornings, as well, and welcome talking with my guests then, too. If I'm at home, just come find me. Otherwise, please call me on my phone or message me through the AirBnb app. I love my guests and want you to have a fantastic visit! Proximity to Everglades National Park, Upper Florida Keys, Biscayne Bay marine activities, and the Redlands agricultural area, and beautiful swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving at John Pennekamp State Park. This is a typical suburban neighborhood south of the City of Miami - see how everyday Americans live! We're not in South Beach, although you can get there from here...with a car! We strongly recommend that all guests have access to their own car if booking here. You will not be happy unless you have your own transportation -- or friends ready to pick you up and take you everywhere. Nevertheless, buses to the MetroRail (which will take you to Miami) are only about a 10–12-minute walk away, and if I'm available, I will be happy to take you to the bus stop. Location : Easy to find, minutes from U.S. 1 and the Florida Turnpike. If you use a GPS app on your smartphone, G-o-o-g-l-e Maps or Waze GPS are reliable, but my home is incorrectly mapped on Apple Maps. Recommended: Most visitors will find it best to rent a car or use Uber/Lyft (pricey!) to get around. A bus stop is only 3 blocks away, but buses are infrequent and routes are inconvenient to tourist attractions. The bus stop that will take you to the Metrorail and from there to downtown attractions, is about a mile (12-15 minute walk) away on a busway adjacent to U.S. 1. Neighborhood : A major shopping mall, grocery store, and restaurants are only about 15 minutes away on foot (a 3-minute drive). Although the neighborhood is very walkable with good sidewalks, Miami is hot and humid for more than half of the year and walking during the middle of the day can be quite uncomfortable. If you're coming from overseas, we can purchase a SIM card for you (usually about $15), payable in advance through the Resolution Center.
