We are a great location for day trips to Key Largo and the rest of the Keys as well as the Everglades. Cozy 1 bedroom studio apartment with a private entrance, bathroom, and kitchen. It is located in a very quiet area of Cutler Bay, between Key Largo and Downtown Miami. This space is perfect for travelers that prefer a peaceful retreat. This is a private cozy apartment. It has a private entrance/ bath/ bedroom/kitchen which is completely separated from the rest of the house. It offers a digital door lock for easy check in after hours. The apt is furnished with a full kitchen that is equipped with a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, bagel toaster, cook-top hotplate, and basic cookware. The bed is a pillow top queen sized bed, with high thread count sheets, and 4 pillows, two that are soft and two that are firm. We provide towels, wash cloths, hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner. We also provide insect repellant and essential oils that repel mosquitos naturally. Your room is also equipped with a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and blackout curtains. There is a writing desk in the kitchen area and a sitting area for reading in the bedroom. The Smart TV is equipped with YouTube Tv. Netflix and Prime. There is high speed WIFI throughout the home and patio areas. The property contains coconut trees and palm tree, three of which are mature Royal Palms which make a lovely white noise on breezy days and nights. The front of the property is well lighted by two antique street lamps. Our guests have access to the gazebo/dining area in our fenced in, totally private, backyard, where smoking is permissible. A gas BBQ grill, for guests only, is available just outside the door of the apartment. Guest have access to the swimming pool from 10:00 to 7pm The guest parking spot is located directly in front of the apartment. Upon request, we can provide beach gear which include towels, chairs, ice cooler and umbrellas. If self check-in has not been prearranged, I will meet with you upon your arrival. I work from home so I am right next door should you need anything. I have lived in Miami since 1978 so I can provide tips on local attractions and various hot spots. Host interaction is based on what you are most comfortable with, ranging from very little to as frequent as you wish. In the Spring, during early evening hours, you may hear mating calls from nearby wild peacocks. Our neighborhood is a quiet area, where residents frequently drive around in golf carts, rather than cars. We are 1.5 miles from the Biscayne Bay and a mile from quaint and scenic Old Cutler Road, featuring beautiful estate homes. This road will take you to popular tourist areas, such as The Deering Estate, Matheson Hammocks Park/Marina ( our nearest beach about 20 mins away), Fairchild and Pinecrest Gardens, Coconut Grove, and Vizcaya Museum/Gardens. We are only about a 45 minute drive from picturesque Key Largo, Forida Most of the areas shopping and restaurants are located along US1, which is 1.2 miles to the west. The closest shopping mall and movie cinema is located in Southland Mall, only 2.1 miles away. During the winter and spring months, Burr's Farm is open which consist of "U-pick" strawberry, tomato, herb, and veggie gardens. The heirloom chocolate tomatoes and yellow dot tomatoes are best eaten right off the vine! Nearby Knauss Berry Farm offers freshly made cinnamon buns and an assortment of produce on a daily basis, which attract crowds of locals and tourists. The fresh cinnamon buns are well worth the wait in line. We are also within a few miles of historic Cauley Square and Railroad Village offering a glimpse of early 20th century South Florida. Award winning Zoo Miami is only 4 miles away and makes for an excellent day trip. We have a sports bars/grills in the neighborhood, which is very popular. The "Sand Bar" offers live entertainment on Weekends. Rod Benders offers seafood and steaks in addition to the usual eats. We are approximately 4.2 miles from Blackpoint Marina which offers boat rentals, patio dining, and a walking/ fishing trail along Biscayne Bay. To fully experience Miami we HIGHLY recommend a rental car. A bus stop is located only one block away, which will take you to Southland Mall and other shopping areas in and around Cutler Bay. *** Please note, like all major cities, Miami has periods of heavy traffic (0700-0930 & 1600-1900), so please take this into account when planning your traveling in and around the city. Expect your travel times to increase significantly during these heavy traffic hours. We also have Uber and Lyft services available in the area, as well as the nearby public Bus Way and Metro Rail systems. Northbound buses run along the Bus Way from Cutler Bay to the Metro Rail station at Dadeland Mall (South) to the city of Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Mary Brickell Village, and Downtown Miami. From the Downtown Miami Metro Rail station, buses are available that service South Miami Beach. If you prefer a cozy and peaceful Miami vacation and not the hectic South Beach night club scene, this is the place for you. Children are welcome, but children of all ages count as 'people' and must be included in the guest count. We have a "pack-n-play" bed for babies and an adult sized air mattress for use. No more than three people total, since there is only one bedroom in the apartment.
